Penfield, New York – The Town of Penfield has launched a new online platform designed to make it easier for residents, contractors and business owners to handle applications, permits and other services without having to navigate several separate processes.

The new system, called GovWell, brings a range of town services together in one online location. Users can apply for building permits, submit plans, schedule inspections and follow the progress of their applications. The platform also allows Code Enforcement concerns to be submitted and tracked online.

Town officials said the goal is to make the process simpler while also improving communication between the town and the people using its services. By moving these activities onto a single platform, Penfield hopes to reduce delays and give applicants a clearer view of where their requests stand.

For residents and businesses, the change means that many steps that previously required more direct interaction with town offices can now be handled online. Applicants can use the system to keep track of their submissions and receive a better understanding of the review process.

The town said having these services in one place should also make it easier for users to navigate applications from the beginning through completion. Tracking information can help residents, contractors and business owners know what stage their application has reached and whether additional action may be needed.

Town Supervisor Kevin Berry said the new system is part of a broader effort to improve how the town communicates with the community.

“We are very excited to launch this new tool, as it is a great way to make it easier to do business with the Town of Penfield,” said Town Supervisor Kevin Berry. “A key focus of mine has been, and continues to be, better communication and transparent government. GovWell makes us better in both areas, and I think our community is going to be pleased with the new opportunities it provides.”

The launch gives residents another way to interact with town government while allowing contractors and business owners to manage permitting-related work online. The system is intended to provide a more organized process and greater visibility into applications.

The platform is now available for use by residents, contractors and business owners. Penfield is also providing additional information for people who may be unfamiliar with the new system, including frequently asked questions and other resources through GovWell’s Help Center.

With the new platform in place, the town is looking to make routine applications and permitting less complicated. Instead of relying on separate steps and communication channels, users can now access several important services through the same online system.

Officials say the move is aimed not only at improving convenience, but also at making the permitting and review process more transparent. For people applying for permits, scheduling inspections or reporting Code Enforcement concerns, the new system offers a central place to submit information and monitor what happens next.
