Rochester, New York – Rochester residents have a new place to exercise outdoors with the opening of a Fitness Court at Genesee Valley Park. Located near the playground at 1316 Genesee St., the facility brings seven exercise stations together for a full workout using body weight.

The City of Rochester, MVP Health Care, and National Fitness Campaign unveiled the outdoor gym as another local option for staying active. Designed for people ages 14 and older, the workouts can be adapted to different abilities and fitness levels, allowing users to exercise at their own pace.

Visitors can also download the free Fitness Court App for workout guidance. The app adds digital support to the physical exercise stations, giving participants a way to follow virtual workouts while using the outdoor space.

“This new Fitness Court in Genesee Valley Park is an investment in the health of the Rochester community,” said Mayor Malik D. Evans. “It joins the Fitness Court in Cobbs Hill Park, and in numerous City R-Centers, parks, and trails, to provide accessible opportunities for residents to stay active. Thank you to MVP Health Care and National Fitness Campaign for advancing equitable health and wellness for all who call Rochester home.”

The Genesee Valley Park location adds to Rochester’s existing Fitness Court at Cobbs Hill Park. Both locations are supported through the app, which provides directions as well as exercise programming.

“The launch of the MVP Health Care Fitness Court in Genesee Valley Park is a step towards providing access to resources that can change the trajectory of someone’s health and wellness journey,” said MVP Health Care’s Senior Director of Commercial Sales and Account Management, Matt Leegan. “As a leading health care services company, investing in our local communities and offering new, innovative wellness options like the Fitness Court reinforces our commitment to giving back to the people we serve and places we call home. We are proud to partner with NFC and the City of Rochester to bring this unique opportunity to the local community and look forward to seeing you on the Fitness Court.”
