Pittsford, New York – As summer evenings settle into Pittsford, residents will once again have the chance to enjoy movies beneath the open sky as the Town launches another season of its popular Family Outdoor Movie Nights this week.

The free community series begins on Thursday, July 9, at the Spiegel Community Center Field, located at 35 Lincoln Avenue. Families are encouraged to arrive with lawn chairs, blankets, and friends before the film starts at dark. Admission is free, making the event an easy way for people of all ages to spend time together during the summer.

Opening this year’s lineup is “Dog Man” (PG), an animated comedy-adventure inspired by Dav Pilkey’s bestselling graphic novel series. The story follows an unusual hero created after a police officer and his loyal police dog are merged into one crime-fighting character. As Dog Man adjusts to his unexpected new life, he faces off against the troublesome Petey the Cat while trying to keep the city safe. Packed with comedy, action, and heartfelt moments, the film is designed to entertain both children and adults.

The outdoor movie series has become a seasonal tradition in Pittsford, offering residents an opportunity to enjoy family-friendly entertainment in a relaxed outdoor setting. Instead of heading to a theater, attendees can spread out on the grass, enjoy warm summer weather, and watch a movie together under the night sky.

Additional movie nights are scheduled throughout the season, giving families several chances to return for more outdoor fun. The upcoming lineup includes “The Bad Guys 2” (PG) on Thursday, July 23, followed by “Lilo & Stitch” (PG) on Thursday, August 6. The summer series concludes with “Zootopia 2” (PG) on Thursday, August 20.

Each screening will take place at the Spiegel Community Center Field, with movies beginning after sunset. Organizers recommend bringing comfortable seating, blankets, and anything needed for an enjoyable evening outdoors.
