New York – Concern is growing in central New York as search crews continue looking for a 24-year-old Chittenango resident who disappeared earlier this week, prompting an extensive response from local and state authorities.

The investigation centers on Anna J. Blaszkow, who is also believed to identify as Ansel Blaszkow. According to officials, the case was reported to police after family members became alarmed when they had not seen or heard from Blaszkow for several days.

The missing person report was filed with the Chittenango Police Department on May 14, after relatives said Blaszkow had last been seen on May 11. Investigators later learned the family’s concern intensified after they discovered a letter referencing self-harm, leading authorities to quickly expand search efforts in the area.

Police now believe Blaszkow may have traveled from their home in the village of Chittenango to Chittenango Falls State Park on May 12 using transportation in an unknown vehicle. That discovery shifted the focus of the investigation toward the park and surrounding wooded terrain, where law enforcement personnel have spent hours searching.

Residents near the park may notice a significant emergency response as the operation continues. The New York State Police confirmed they are actively assisting local officers with both the investigation and coordinated search efforts. Multiple agencies have joined the operation, including New York State Park Police and Department of Environmental Conservation Forest Rangers.

Search teams have also deployed specialized resources in an attempt to locate Blaszkow as quickly as possible. K9 units have been working through sections of the park while drones scan the landscape from above, helping crews cover difficult terrain more efficiently.

Authorities described Blaszkow as being 5-foot-3 and approximately 240 pounds with brown hair. They were last reportedly seen wearing a high-visibility jacket featuring a NASA logo, along with a black or dark gray T-shirt, sweatpants, and white sneakers.

As the investigation unfolds, officials are continuing to urge the public to remain alert and immediately report any possible sightings or information that could assist search crews. Police emphasized that even small details may prove important in helping investigators determine Blaszkow’s whereabouts.

Anyone who sees Blaszkow or has information connected to the case is asked to contact 911 immediately or reach out to the New York State Police at 315-366-6000.

For now, authorities say the investigation remains active, with search operations expected to continue throughout the day as crews work across the Chittenango Falls area hoping for answers.
