Henrietta residents face September 15 deadline for first installment of 2026 school tax bill

Henrietta, New York – Residents who need to pay the first installment of their 2026 school tax bill have until Tuesday, September 15, to make their payment without facing interest charges.

The deadline applies to the first installment of the school tax bill. Town officials are reminding taxpayers to review their payment options and make sure their payments are submitted on time.

Those who have not yet made their first installment payment can visit the Town Clerk’s Office, which is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Residents who prefer to pay in person can use the office during those hours.

There are also options for taxpayers who cannot visit the office before the deadline. Payments placed in the town’s drop box before 9 a.m. on Wednesday, September 16, will be considered on time.

Residents mailing their payments should make sure their envelopes carry a United States Postal Service postmark dated September 15. The town will honor official US postmarks from that date, but postage meter marks will not qualify.

Online payments are another option for those looking to settle their first installment quickly. Taxpayers can make payments through the Monroe County website at www.monroecounty.gov. Online payments must be completed before midnight on Tuesday, September 15, to avoid interest. An additional convenience fee applies to online transactions.

The town is also reminding residents who plan to pay their entire 2026 school tax bill at once that they have more time to do so. Thursday, October 1, is the final day to make a full payment without interest.
