Rochester invites local artists and small arts organizations to apply for a new round of ArtsBloom funding supporting creative projects
Rochester, New York – The City of Rochester is once again opening the door to creativity, inviting local artists and arts organizations to apply for a new round of ArtsBloom funding aimed at expanding access to arts and culture across the city.
Mayor Malik D. Evans announced the latest funding opportunity this week, encouraging individual artists and small arts organizations to submit proposals for arts programming and creative projects. City leaders say ArtsBloom continues to play a key role in strengthening Rochester’s cultural landscape while ensuring that residents in every neighborhood can experience the arts in meaningful and accessible ways.
“Rochester has a long and proud history of creativity throughout our neighborhoods, institutions, and people,” Evans said. “The arts help tell our story, bring us together, and make our city stronger. Every resident should have access to the arts, and we must continue supporting the local artists and organizations that enrich our community. ArtsBloom is one way we invest in that legacy and ensure creativity continues to thrive across our city.”

The ArtsBloom program is designed to support a wide range of creative work. To qualify for funding, proposed projects or programs must fall into at least one of four categories: arts education, literary arts, performing arts, or visual arts. City officials note that projects combining multiple disciplines are also welcome, as long as they meet the program’s guidelines.
Three different funding options are available through ArtsBloom, allowing applicants to seek support that best fits the size and scope of their projects. All funded activities must take place within Rochester city limits, reinforcing the program’s focus on serving local communities and residents.
Since its launch, ArtsBloom has built a strong track record. Over its first three years, the program has sponsored or co-sponsored 20 projects and programs throughout the city. These efforts have helped local arts organizations offer free cultural events, public art exhibitions, printed literary works, and live performances, many of which were accessible to audiences who might not otherwise have the opportunity to participate.
City officials say ArtsBloom also supports broader planning goals. The program aligns with the Arts + Culture section of the Rochester 2034 Comprehensive Plan, which emphasizes the role of creativity in economic development, neighborhood vitality, and community identity. By investing in local artists, the city aims to strengthen both cultural expression and long-term civic growth.
Artists and organizations interested in applying should take note of the deadline. Proposals for ArtsBloom 2026 must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, March 15, 2026.
Detailed information about eligibility requirements, funding options, and application materials is available online. Applicants can find full program details and submission instructions by visiting cityofrochester.gov/rfp-artsbloom-2026.
City leaders say they look forward to seeing a new wave of creative ideas that reflect Rochester’s diverse voices and help keep the city’s artistic spirit alive and growing.
