Town of Pittsford announces its full schedule of adjusted Thanksgiving holiday hours for 2025
Pittsford, New York – As the Thanksgiving season approaches, the Town of Pittsford is preparing for its annual shift in operating hours. Local officials released the holiday schedule for municipal offices and community services, giving residents advance notice about when buildings will close and when normal operations will resume. With several departments adjusting their hours across the long holiday weekend, the town is encouraging everyone to plan ahead and stay informed.
According to the announcement, Town Hall and multiple municipal departments will operate on an abbreviated schedule just before the holiday. “Town of Pittsford offices, facilities, and services, including Town Hall, the Parks and Sewer departments, and Town Court will close at 1:00pm on Wednesday, November 26 and remain closed Thursday (11/27) and Friday (11/28) in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.” This means that most local government functions will pause for the second half of the week, giving employees time to observe the holiday with family and friends.
The Highway Department will follow a slightly different schedule. While the department will not be open on Thanksgiving Day, the town noted that one essential seasonal service will still continue. “The Town Highway Department will be closed on Thursday, November 27; regular Town leaf collection services will be provided on Friday, November 28.” With late November falling in the heart of leaf-pickup season, this update offers reassurance for residents who rely on Friday collection.
Community spaces across Pittsford will also see changes. The Spiegel Community Center will close early the day before Thanksgiving and pause its programs throughout the holiday. “The Spiegel Community Center will close at 5:00pm on Wednesday, November 26 and remain closed on Thursday (11/27) and Friday (11/28). The Community Center will resume regular hours on Saturday (11/29), from 8:00am – 8:00pm.” Residents planning to use fitness rooms, classes, or public spaces should take note of the limited midweek access.
The Pittsford Community Library will follow a similar pattern, adjusting its hours to match the holiday break. “The Pittsford Community Library will close at 5:00pm on Wednesday, November 26, and will remain closed on Thursday (11/27) and Friday (11/28). The Library will resume regular hours (10:00am – 5:00pm) on Saturday, November 29.” Library patrons hoping to borrow books, attend programs, or use study spaces are encouraged to visit before the early Wednesday closing.
Despite the townwide closures, Pittsford has provided guidance for emergencies that may arise when offices are unavailable. The notice reminds residents that urgent concerns can still be handled. “In case of an emergency requiring Town of Pittsford services during holiday closure, please call (585) 248-6212.”
With the holiday period fast approaching, the town ended its message with a warm seasonal wish: “All of us at the Town of Pittsford wish you a safe and happy Thanksgiving holiday!”
