Town of Penfield to pause weekday brush drop-off services for the winter season with final collection day set for November 14

Penfield, New York – As colder weather approaches, the Town of Penfield is preparing to shift its operations toward winter maintenance and snow management. As part of that transition, officials announced that weekday brush drop-off services will be paused starting Monday, November 17. The final weekday drop-off opportunity for residents will take place on Friday, November 14, between 9 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.

While weekday hours will be on hold, the town will continue to offer Saturday brush drop-off events throughout the winter, depending on weather conditions. These sessions will run from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., giving residents multiple opportunities to dispose of tree branches, limbs, sticks, and similar yard materials before spring.

The winter drop-off schedule includes the following dates:

• Saturday, November 8
• Saturday, December 6 and December 20
• Saturday, January 3 and January 17
• Saturday, February 7 and February 21
• Saturday, March 7 and March 21

Officials noted that the schedule is subject to change depending on weather or other operational needs.

According to the town, weekday brush drop-off is expected to resume on Monday, March 30, 2026, once regular spring cleanup operations begin again. Until then, the limited Saturday events will remain the primary option for residents looking to dispose of yard debris.

The brush drop-off site is conveniently located south of Sweets Corners at 2143 Gloria Drive. To help residents find the site easily, digital map links for both Apple Maps and Google Maps are available on the town’s website.

Brush drop-off services are restricted to Town of Penfield residents only, and visitors must show proof of residency upon arrival. The program is designed strictly for residential use — dump trucks and contractors are not permitted to drop off materials.

Accepted materials at the site include:

• Branches
• Limbs
• Sticks
• Bushes
• Logs

Items not accepted include stumps, leaves, and grass clippings. These restrictions help ensure that only appropriate materials are processed and that the town’s composting and disposal equipment can operate efficiently during colder months.

Town officials are encouraging residents to take advantage of the remaining weekday and upcoming Saturday sessions before heavy snow arrives. Winter brush management helps reduce hazards, keeps yards tidy, and ensures that materials are properly handled through the town’s environmental program.
