Penfield, New York – Residents of Penfield who are planning to travel abroad will soon have an opportunity to get their passport needs taken care of without leaving town. A special Passport Night is being hosted on Wednesday, October 8, at Penfield Town Hall, located at 3100 Atlantic Avenue. The event will run from 5 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. and is being organized in partnership with Penfield Town Supervisor Jeff Leenhouts, Town Clerk Amy Steklof, and the Monroe County Clerk’s Office.

This community event is designed for anyone looking to apply for their very first passport or renew an existing one. Passport photos will also be available on site, making the process more convenient for those who want to complete all the necessary steps in one place. Federal requirements must be followed for passport eligibility, so attendees are encouraged to review the necessary documents before their appointment.

Appointments are required for this event, and time slots will be scheduled in half-hour intervals throughout the evening. This system is meant to keep wait times low while ensuring that every participant has the chance to receive assistance from trained staff.

Those interested in booking a time are asked to reach out directly to Penfield Town Clerk Amy Steklof at 585-340-8628. Steklof highlighted that calling ahead is crucial to securing a spot, as walk-ins cannot be accommodated during the limited two-and-a-half-hour window.

With international travel requiring updated documentation, events like Passport Night provide a timely resource for families, students, and professionals preparing for trips overseas. By bringing federal passport services into the heart of Penfield, local leaders are hoping to make the process straightforward and accessible for the community.
