Penfield, New York – The Town of Penfield is once again opening its doors to the community for a day dedicated to health, wellness, and safety. On Friday, September 12, residents of all ages are invited to the Penfield Community Center for the second annual Community Health and Wellness Fair. The event runs from 2:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. at 1985 Baird Road and promises to combine important resources with family-friendly fun.

Organizers say the fair will bring together dozens of health, safety, and wellness organizations from across the region. Attendees will have the chance to explore information booths, connect with local professionals, and take part in services designed to support better living. From safety demonstrations to hands-on activities for kids, the fair aims to give families practical tools while creating a festive atmosphere.

One of the highlights of this year’s fair is the opportunity for children to climb aboard and explore vehicles from several local agencies. The Penfield Parks Department, Penfield Fire Department, and Penfield Volunteer Emergency Ambulance will all have equipment on display. The University of Rochester Medical Center’s Mobile Stroke Unit will also be on site, giving families a closer look at how first responders work during emergencies.

Parents will have the added benefit of free car seat safety checks provided during the fair. Technicians will be available to inspect car seats, ensure they are properly installed, and answer questions from caregivers. For older adults, the event is offering CarFit services—an individualized program that helps drivers make sure they are seated safely and comfortably in their vehicles.

Food trucks, live music, and entertainment will round out the evening, turning the fair into more than just an informational event. Organizers hope the combination of educational programming and recreational activities will encourage families to stay, socialize, and take advantage of all the services being offered.

Community groups and vendors interested in joining the lineup still have time to apply. The deadline for organizations to register is Tuesday, September 2. Event planners are continuing to add new programming and vendors, with updates expected in the coming weeks.

The fair is organized by the Town of Penfield Employee Wellness Committee, which has made it a mission to promote health and safety for residents of all ages. Their goal is not only to provide information but also to create an inclusive space where families can learn and connect with local resources.

With so many activities scheduled—along with food, music, and community spirit—the event promises to be both useful and enjoyable. For residents, it’s a chance to meet local health and safety professionals, pick up tips for everyday wellness, and enjoy a fall afternoon in Penfield.
