ROC the Block community employment fair will take place this Wednesday at the City of Rochester Public Market with dozens of local employers ready to meet job seekers

Rochester, New York – Job seekers across Rochester will have a great opportunity to connect with local employers this week as the ROC the Block Community Employment Fair makes its return to the City of Rochester Public Market. The event will take place on Wednesday, July 16, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 280 N. Union St., giving attendees a chance to meet face-to-face with recruiters and explore a variety of job opportunities.
ROC the Block is more than just a traditional job fair. It’s designed as a community-centered, block party-style event that brings energy and excitement to the city’s neighborhoods. The initiative is focused on making employment connections accessible by bringing the events directly to different areas within Rochester’s four quadrants during the summer and early fall months.
The July 16 gathering at the Public Market marks the second ROC the Block event of the 2025 season. The goal remains the same — to break down barriers between job seekers and employers in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.
A wide range of employers will be present at the fair, offering job opportunities across many sectors. Participating organizations include the University of Rochester, Walmart, Rochester City School District, CDS Monarch, the City of Rochester, County of Monroe, ITEC Training & Education Center, HCR Homecare, FedEx, Bausch & Lomb, Access VR, Wegmans, and several others.
“This event is a great way to bring employers and potential employees together in an environment that feels more like a neighborhood celebration than a stressful interview process,” one organizer shared ahead of the event. “It’s about making connections and opening doors for our community.”
For those who cannot make it to this Wednesday’s event, there are still additional opportunities to participate later in the season. Future ROC the Block fairs are scheduled for August 20 at the Salvation Army, 100 West Ave., and September 24 at Parcel 5, 285 E. Main St. Both events will also run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Employers and organizations who are interested in joining future ROC the Block employment fairs are encouraged to reach out. “Employers or organizations interested in participating in future ROC the Block employment fairs should email [email protected].”
These events are part of a larger effort by the City of Rochester to strengthen community connections while supporting workforce development. By bringing opportunities directly into neighborhoods, ROC the Block aims to make finding a job feel less intimidating and more accessible for everyone.
