Motorcyclist loses control and crashes into building and utility pole in tragic Parish accident

Parish, New York – A tragic accident took place on the afternoon of May 25 in the quiet village of Parish, Oswego County, leaving one man dead after a motorcycle crash on North Railroad Street.
According to the New York State Police, the incident occurred around 2:30 p.m. when the motorcyclist, who was riding a 2014 Harley Davidson, lost control of the bike while navigating a curve in the road. Investigators say the rider was unable to manage the turn, causing him to veer off the pavement and collide first with a building and then with a utility pole.
Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene and transported the man by ambulance to Upstate Hospital. Despite the efforts of medical staff, the motorcyclist was pronounced deceased shortly after arrival.
“Preliminary investigation reveals the operator was traveling on North Railroad Street on a 2014 Harley Davidson when he failed to negotiate a curve, left the roadway, and struck a building, then a utility pole.”
Authorities have not yet released the identity of the rider, pending family notification. The crash site, a typically calm stretch of road in the heart of Parish, drew the attention of local residents, some of whom expressed concern over the road’s safety and visibility.
No other vehicles or individuals were involved in the crash. Investigators remained on the scene for several hours after the collision, examining skid marks and vehicle damage to piece together the final moments before the accident.
The weather conditions at the time of the crash were reportedly clear, though it’s still uncertain what other factors may have contributed to the loss of control. Speed has not been confirmed as a factor at this time, and the State Police continue to gather more information.
This incident marks another painful reminder of the risks motorcyclists face on rural roads, where even a brief miscalculation can lead to deadly consequences.
The investigation into the crash remains ongoing. Anyone who may have witnessed the incident is encouraged to contact the State Police with any relevant information.
