Syracuse, New York – A two-month narcotics investigation led by the New York State Police has resulted in the arrest of a Syracuse man and the recovery of drugs, a firearm, and other illegal materials. Authorities confirmed that 39-year-old Kevin Q. Pullins was taken into custody on May 8, 2025, following the execution of a search warrant at a property in the city.

The investigation was spearheaded by the State Police’s Violent Gang and Narcotics Enforcement Team (VGNET) in Syracuse, with assistance from the NYSP Community Stabilization Unit. After weeks of surveillance and intelligence gathering, officers moved in on a suspected stash house located at 410 Carbon Street, a location known to law enforcement for illegal activity.

During the raid, troopers recovered a loaded Ruger .380 LCP pistol, over 50 grams of crack cocaine, more than 190 grams of MDMA, $2,252 in cash, as well as drug packaging supplies and a digital scale. Police say the items were consistent with narcotics distribution.

“The New York State Police remains committed to targeting illegal narcotics and the violence they generate in our communities,” officials stated following the arrest. The seizure, they say, highlights the ongoing threat of illegal drug trafficking and associated firearms violations in Central New York.

Kevin Pullins now faces multiple felony charges, including:

• Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 2nd degree, a Class A felony
• Two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree, both Class B felonies
• Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd degree, a Class C felony
• Criminal Possession of a Firearm, a Class E felony
• Two counts of Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia in the 2nd degree, both Class A misdemeanors

Pullins was taken into custody without incident and has been processed and transported to the Onondaga County Justice Center, where he is awaiting arraignment. Authorities have not released any additional information about whether further arrests are expected.

The operation is the latest in a series of targeted enforcement efforts by the State Police aimed at dismantling narcotics networks and reducing gun-related violence across New York. The VGNET task force continues to work closely with local agencies to identify high-risk offenders and take drugs and illegal weapons off the streets.

As the investigation remains ongoing, police encourage anyone with information about drug activity in their neighborhood to contact law enforcement. The arrest of Pullins serves as a reminder of the persistent efforts underway to combat the presence of dangerous narcotics and illegal firearms in Syracuse communities.
