Supervisor Bill Reilich shares full details of the 2025 Memorial Day Parade and Remembrance Ceremony planned in the Town of Greece

Greece, New York – The Town of Greece is preparing once again to honor fallen service members with its annual Memorial Day Parade and Remembrance Ceremony, set to take place on Monday, May 26th, 2025. Supervisor Bill Reilich officially released the event schedule this week, inviting the community to come together in tribute and reflection.

“On Memorial Day, the Town of Greece will again join with American Legion Greece Post #468 in presenting the annual Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony,” Reilich announced.

This year’s parade will begin at 11:00 AM and follow a familiar route, heading south along Long Pond Road from Janes Road to the Greece Town Hall Campus. Marching bands, veterans groups, and community organizations are expected to take part, offering a heartfelt salute to those who gave their lives in service to the country.

Immediately following the parade, at approximately 11:45 AM, the Remembrance Ceremony will be held at the Greece Town Hall Pavilion. The ceremony traditionally includes speeches from local officials and veterans, the laying of wreaths, and patriotic music, all serving as a solemn reminder of the true meaning behind the holiday.

Residents attending the event are advised to plan ahead due to road closures and parking restrictions. Parking will be available at the Greece Town Hall Campus until around 10:45 AM. After that time, access will be limited to accommodate parade preparations and foot traffic.

Motorists should be aware that Long Pond Road—from Latta Road to Janes Road—along with a portion of Janes Road, will be closed from approximately 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Heavy vehicle and pedestrian traffic is expected immediately following the ceremony, so patience and caution are strongly encouraged for those navigating the area.

Supervisor Reilich emphasized the importance of the event to the Greece community, which comes together each year in gratitude and remembrance.
