Dedicated recreation supervisor Sabrina Renner honored for nearly two decades of service to Penfield community programs

Penfield, New York – Penfield Recreation’s very own Sabrina Renner has been selected for the March Staff Spotlight, a well-deserved recognition for her nearly two decades of dedication to the department. Town Supervisor Jeff Leenhouts highlighted her hard work and contributions, emphasizing her invaluable role in making Penfield’s recreation programs a success.
If you’ve ever attended a Penfield Rec event, chances are Sabrina had a hand in making it happen. Her journey with the Town of Penfield started back in 2001 as a part-time production assistant for Penfield Community Television. By 2002, she transitioned into a full-time position as a Special Event Assistant, and in 2006, she officially became part of the Recreation Department. Since then, she has been a key figure in planning and executing the town’s recreational offerings.

Sabrina has built her career around fostering a strong sense of community. Whether she’s organizing programs, coordinating volunteers, or answering residents’ questions, her focus has always been on helping people.
“I enjoy being able to help people, whether it’s just a question over the phone or coordinating a group of volunteers to clean up their yard,” Sabrina shared. “I have made so many meaningful connections since working for the Town, and it has made living in Penfield even more enjoyable.”
Today, as a Recreation Supervisor, Sabrina wears many hats. She is responsible for overseeing programming, event planning, and community engagement. Beyond that, she manages the Penfield Community Victory Garden and leads marketing efforts, ensuring that the town’s website, brochures, and social media platforms effectively communicate all the recreational opportunities available to residents.

Town Supervisor Jeff Leenhouts expressed his gratitude for Sabrina’s commitment and the impact she has on the community.
“Our recreation team does so much, and Sabrina is a key member of the team,” Leenhouts stated. “I appreciate her commitment to our community and the work she does each day to make sure Penfielders of all ages have access to high-quality recreation opportunities.”
Sabrina’s passion for her work and her dedication to the Penfield community make her a standout member of the Recreation Department. Her efforts ensure that residents of all ages have access to engaging and enriching programs, helping to strengthen the town’s sense of togetherness. As she continues her work, Penfield Rec will undoubtedly benefit from her leadership, creativity, and unwavering commitment to service.
