Pittsford’s proposed 2027 budget keeps town tax rate unchanged
Pittsford, New York – Pittsford Town Supervisor Bill Smith has proposed a 2027 budget that would maintain the town tax rate at $3.13 per $1,000 of assessed property value while continuing funding for town services, community events and road improvements.
Smith presented the spending proposal at the October 20 Town Board meeting. The proposed tax rate would remain unchanged, and the budget includes funding for residential road repaving, pedestrian safety improvements and measures intended to reduce speeding.
Residents will have an opportunity to review the proposal and address the Town Board during a public hearing scheduled for Wednesday, November 4, at 6 p.m. The hearing will take place in the public meeting room on the lower level of Town Hall.

The hearing is part of the budget process before the Town Board formally adopts a spending plan. Community members can use the session to ask questions and express their views about the proposed funding and town priorities for the coming year.
The Wednesday meeting falls outside the Town Board’s usual schedule. Town officials noted that the change was made because Tuesday is Election Day, making the November 4 date important for residents planning to participate.
Comments may be submitted ahead of the meeting or offered during the session. Residents submitting comments in advance should do so before 2:30 p.m. on November 4. Participation during the meeting is available either in person or by email, with emailed comments directed to [email protected].
The town will also livestream the meeting, allowing residents to follow the proceedings remotely. Viewing information and instructions for submitting comments will be included in the meeting agenda packet. ASL interpretation will be provided.

Residents preparing for the hearing can find the meeting agenda on the town’s agendas and minutes webpage at least two days before the session. The packet will provide the access and participation details needed by those planning to watch online or send comments.
Budget materials are also available for review before the hearing. Printed copies of the proposed 2027 Town Budget and Smith’s budget presentation can be obtained at the Town Clerk’s office in Town Hall.
Digital versions are available on the town’s budgets webpage, including the proposed budget documents, the supervisor’s presentation and his budget memo. Those materials give residents an opportunity to examine the proposal before bringing questions or comments to the board.
The November 4 hearing will allow that public feedback to be heard while the budget remains a proposal and before the Town Board takes its adoption action.
