Penfield Trails Committee invites walkers to explore Durand Eastman Park on November 14
Penfield, New York – A free guided hike at Durand Eastman Park will give participants an opportunity to explore wooded slopes, small lakes and scenic overlooks during a late-season outing organized by the Penfield Trails Committee.
The hike is scheduled for Saturday, November 14, from 10 a.m. to noon. Organizers are inviting participants to discover the park’s natural beauty, with fall foliage expected to provide a colorful backdrop along its varied landscape.

The two-hour event will focus on a setting that includes steep wooded slopes, valleys, scenic vistas and small lakes. Those features offer several reasons to take a closer look at the park, from the changing appearance of its wooded areas to the views across its lower terrain and water.
Fall color is a particular highlight of the committee’s announcement. Organizers anticipate that the foliage will be spectacular, although the invitation describes an expectation rather than a guarantee of conditions on the day of the hike. The park’s slopes, valleys and lakes will provide the setting for the outing regardless of how much seasonal color remains.
Participants should meet at Lot C on Lakeshore Boulevard, near the intersection with Horseshoe Road. The committee asks those attending to look for signs marked HIKE to locate the gathering point. The designated meeting location is an important detail for anyone making plans to join the group at the park.

There is no charge to participate, but organizers request advance registration. An online registration form is available through the Town of Penfield’s website, allowing those interested to sign up before the scheduled outing.
For anyone considering the event, the announcement identifies both the time commitment and the character of the landscape. This is a guided park hike scheduled over a two-hour period, and the terrain described includes steep wooded slopes. The notice does not specify the route’s distance or assign a difficulty rating.
The November 14 outing offers a chance to set aside part of a Saturday morning for a guided exploration of Durand Eastman Park. Prospective participants can complete the guided hike registration form and should plan to gather at the advertised Lot C meeting point for the 10 a.m. start.
