Pittsford, New York – Residents of Pittsford should plan ahead for changes to Town services over the Labor Day weekend, as Town of Pittsford offices, facilities and services will close Monday, September 7, in observance of the 2026 Labor Day holiday.

The holiday closure will affect several commonly used community facilities, including Town Hall, the Spiegel Community Center, the Pittsford Community Library and Town Court. While most locations will be closed on Monday, some facilities will have limited hours or closures during the days leading up to the holiday.

Town Hall will be open for a shortened schedule on Friday, September 4, from 8:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. The building will then remain closed throughout the weekend, including Saturday, September 5, Sunday, September 6 and Monday, September 7.

The Spiegel Community Center will have different hours during the holiday weekend. It will be open Saturday, September 5, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The center will be closed Sunday and Monday.

The Pittsford Community Library will be closed throughout the entire Labor Day weekend. The library will not open on Saturday, Sunday or Monday.

Town officials are reminding residents to take the holiday schedule into account when planning visits, handling town business or using community facilities. The closures are part of the town’s observance of Labor Day, a federal holiday traditionally marking the contributions of workers.

Town Court will also be closed on Monday, September 7, along with the other Town of Pittsford offices and services.

Despite the holiday closures, residents who experience an emergency requiring Town of Pittsford services will still have a number to call. The town has provided (585) 248-6212 for emergencies that require town assistance during the holiday.

The Labor Day weekend will give residents a chance to enjoy the final days of summer, but officials are encouraging everyone to keep the adjusted schedules in mind before heading to town facilities.

On behalf of the Town of Pittsford, officials are also wishing residents a happy and safe holiday as the community prepares for the long weekend.
