Rochester, New York – Rochester officials announced that City Hall and several municipal offices will close on Tuesday, November 11, in observance of Veterans Day, a national holiday dedicated to honoring those who have served in the United States Armed Forces.

The closures will include Rochester City Hall, all Neighborhood Service Centers, Rochester Public Libraries, R-Centers, Rochester Animal Services, and the Honorable Loretta C. Scott Center for Human Services administrative office building located at 57 St. Paul Street. These facilities will reopen for regular business hours the following day.

While most administrative functions will pause for the day, essential city services will continue without interruption. Refuse and recycling collection will remain on schedule, ensuring that regular pickups proceed as usual for residents across the city.

Additionally, the city’s 311 Call Center will stay operational, maintaining its normal weekday schedule from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. for residents seeking information or assistance with non-emergency matters.

Veterans Day, observed annually on November 11, is a moment for communities across the nation to reflect on the sacrifices of military veterans and active-duty service members. Many local organizations and community groups are expected to hold ceremonies and events throughout the day to pay tribute to Rochester’s veterans.

City officials encouraged residents to take time on Tuesday to recognize the men and women who have served in defense of the country. “This is a day to honor the courage, commitment, and selfless service of our veterans,” a city spokesperson said. “We invite everyone to join in showing appreciation for their contributions to our freedom and community.”
