Henrietta Fire District announces upcoming election for one commissioner position to be held on December 9 at Station No 4 on Bailey Road
Henrietta, New York – The Henrietta Fire District has officially announced details for its upcoming annual election, giving local residents the opportunity to play a direct role in shaping the district’s leadership for the next five years. The election is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, between 4:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. at Henrietta Fire District Station No. 4, located at 850 Bailey Road, West Henrietta, New York 14586.
Voters will be asked to elect one Fire District Commissioner during the election. The current term of Commissioner Francis J. Martin Jr. is set to expire on December 31, 2025, and the newly elected commissioner will begin serving on January 1, 2026, continuing through December 31, 2030. This position represents a five-year term, a commitment that plays an important role in maintaining the strength, safety, and efficiency of the district’s fire services.
Residents interested in running for the commissioner position are required to submit a petition to the Fire District Secretary. Each petition must be signed by at least twenty-five qualified voters of the Henrietta Fire District. To ensure eligibility, candidates must file their completed petitions no later than November 19, 2025. Petitions can be obtained directly from the Secretary of the Fire District.
The Fire District Commissioner serves as part of a governing board that oversees budgeting, staffing, equipment purchases, and long-term planning for the district. Their decisions directly affect fire protection services and community safety throughout Henrietta. Elections such as this one allow local residents to have a voice in who manages these vital responsibilities.
Community members are encouraged to participate in the election, whether by voting or running for office. The district emphasizes that public involvement helps ensure transparency and accountability in how fire services are managed.
Residents with questions about the election process or candidate petitions are advised to contact the Henrietta Fire District for more information. By taking part in this year’s commissioner election, voters will help shape the future of fire safety and emergency response across the community for the next half decade.
