Rochester, New York – The City of Rochester is preparing to welcome the fall season in true Bavarian style as the third annual Oktoberfest at the Public Market arrives this Friday, Sept. 19. From 5 to 9 p.m., the City of Rochester Public Market at 280 N. Union Street will transform into a lively hub of music, food, and cultural festivities.
The evening promises to bring together the flavors and traditions of Germany while creating a welcoming space for all ages. Guests can expect a lively mix of games, folk dances, and authentic tunes designed to capture the spirit of Oktoberfest. Adding to the atmosphere, the City’s Recreation on the Move mobile R-Center teams will be on hand to provide a range of fun activities, keeping younger attendees just as engaged as the adults.
True to the market’s reputation, organizers are putting a strong emphasis on keeping the celebration family-friendly. While beer and traditional German fare will certainly be part of the occasion, the event is designed to offer something for everyone. Live entertainment will fill the air, and traditional games will give guests of all ages the chance to take part in the seasonal fun.
Admission is free, making the festival easily accessible for anyone looking to enjoy a festive Friday evening. The event is presented through the support of the City of Rochester, Rohrbach’s Brewing Company, and Swan Market. Local vendors and community partners are expected to round out the celebration, offering food, drinks, and cultural flair that highlight the best of German tradition.
The event has quickly become a staple on the city’s calendar, drawing both longtime Rochester residents and newcomers to share in a lively evening that blends European culture with local community spirit. Whether families are stopping in for games and music or adults are sampling Bavarian brews, the Public Market’s Oktoberfest aims to capture the energy of autumn in one memorable evening.
With its mix of tradition, entertainment, and community focus, this year’s Oktoberfest is shaping up to be another highlight of the season. Visitors are encouraged to bring friends, bring family, and prepare to celebrate fall in one of Rochester’s most beloved gathering places.
