State Police arrest Dolgeville man after search warrant leads to felony drug charges and discovery of narcotics inside residence

New York – Authorities in Herkimer County say a Dolgeville man is facing multiple felony charges after a coordinated police operation uncovered narcotics and drug-related materials inside his home earlier this week.
On August 20, 2025, members of the New York State Police Troop D Violent Gang and Narcotics Enforcement Team carried out a search warrant at a residence on Rundell Street in the village of Dolgeville. The operation was supported by several specialized units, including the Special Investigations Unit, the Counter Terrorism Intelligence Unit, the Canine Unit, and uniformed troopers.
Inside the home, investigators reported finding more than one-eighth ounce of crack cocaine, a quantity of crystal methamphetamine, and a substance used as a cutting agent. Officers also seized various packaging supplies and digital scales believed to be connected to the preparation and distribution of narcotics.
The investigation led to the arrest of Antwoin D. Goodwin, 42, of Dolgeville. Goodwin now faces serious charges, including Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree (Class B felony), Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 4th degree (Class C felony), and three counts of Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in the 2nd degree (Class A misdemeanor).
Following his arrest, Goodwin was arraigned in Herkimer County Court. The judge set his bail at $50,000 cash or $200,000 bond, and Goodwin was remanded to the Herkimer County Jail pending further proceedings.
State Police emphasized that the search was the result of ongoing investigative work aimed at targeting illegal narcotics in the community. Large-scale drug investigations typically involve multiple divisions of law enforcement, and officials said this case was no exception. The presence of several specialized units at the Rundell Street residence highlights the seriousness of the allegations and the coordinated nature of the response.
Cases like this, police said, reflect the broader efforts underway to combat drug distribution networks across central New York. By removing both narcotics and the tools used for packaging and selling drugs, investigators believe they can disrupt the supply chain and limit the availability of dangerous substances in smaller communities.
While details about the broader scope of the investigation were not immediately disclosed, authorities noted that operations like this often stem from intelligence gathering, surveillance, and the cooperation of different police units. The involvement of the Canine Unit also suggests that drug detection dogs played a role in locating narcotics inside the residence.
Goodwin is expected to return to court for future hearings. If convicted on the felony charges, he could face significant prison time under New York State law.
State Police have not indicated whether additional arrests are expected but stressed that their enforcement teams remain committed to addressing narcotics-related crime throughout the region.
