Norfolk, New York – Two people are facing charges after state police say they broke into a property in the town of Norfolk last month and took items that were not theirs.

According to New York State Police, troopers arrested 42-year-old Roger L. Murray of Norwood and 23-year-old Autumn L. Marashian of Massena on August 17, 2025. Both were charged with burglary in the third degree and criminal possession of stolen property in the fifth degree.

The charges stem from an incident reported on July 16, when troopers were called to a home on Tiernan Ridge Road around 9:59 a.m. Investigators determined that Murray and Marashian unlawfully entered several areas of the property, including a garage and a camper, before leaving with stolen items. Authorities have not specified what was taken but confirmed that the belongings were recovered during the investigation.

After their arrests, both individuals were taken to the State Police barracks in Massena for processing. They were later brought before the Town of Norfolk Court, where they were arraigned and released on their own recognizance.

Police said the case remains active, but no additional suspects are being sought at this time. The investigation highlights the importance of neighbors reporting suspicious activity, officials noted, as community tips often play a crucial role in solving property crimes.

While burglary cases can leave lasting impacts on victims, state police reminded residents that swift reporting and careful investigation often help return stolen property and bring charges against those responsible.
