Town of Penfield to host second annual community health and wellness fair on September 12 at the Penfield Community Center

Penfield, New York – The Town of Penfield is inviting residents of all ages to come together for a day dedicated to health, safety, and community connection. On Friday, September 12, the Penfield Community Center will host the second annual Community Health and Wellness Fair, running from 2:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at 1985 Baird Road.
Organizers promise an afternoon packed with activities, information, and resources designed to promote healthier lifestyles for people of all ages. Local health, wellness, and safety organizations from across the region will be on hand to provide guidance, demonstrations, and services, making the event a valuable stop for anyone looking to improve their well-being.
One of the highlights will be a special hands-on area for children, where they can explore vehicles and equipment from the Penfield Parks Department, Penfield Fire Department, and Penfield Volunteer Emergency Ambulance. Kids will also have the rare chance to see the University of Rochester Medical Center Mobile Stroke Unit up close, offering a fascinating and educational glimpse into lifesaving technology.
Older adults will find helpful resources as well, including the availability of CarFit services. These personalized checks ensure drivers are positioned correctly and comfortably in their vehicles, improving both safety and confidence on the road.
Beyond the educational aspects, the fair will also have plenty of opportunities for fun. Food trucks will be serving a variety of treats, while live music and entertainment will keep the atmosphere lively throughout the afternoon. “Stay tuned for additional updates on programming and vendors,” organizers said, noting that more details will be announced as the date approaches.
Local groups and businesses interested in participating as vendors are encouraged to apply before the Friday, August 22 deadline. The fair offers a unique opportunity for organizations to connect with the public, share their expertise, and demonstrate their commitment to community wellness.
The event is being coordinated by the Town of Penfield Employee Wellness Committee, whose goal is to bring together resources that can make a real difference in the lives of residents. By combining health education, family activities, and community spirit, the fair aims to create an event that is as enjoyable as it is informative.
Whether you’re looking to pick up healthy living tips, learn about local safety services, or simply enjoy a fun afternoon out with your family, the Community Health and Wellness Fair offers something for everyone. With its mix of hands-on experiences, educational exhibits, and entertainment, it’s shaping up to be a signature event on Penfield’s fall calendar.
