Breeze Airways adds new non-stop flights from Rochester airport to Fort Myers starting January 2026

Rochester, New York – Monroe County Executive Adam Bello has announced that starting January 8, 2026, travelers will be able to fly non-stop from the Frederick Douglass Greater Rochester International Airport (ROC) to sunny Fort Myers, Florida, thanks to Breeze Airways.
This new direct connection to Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) marks another step forward in expanding affordable, easy-to-access flight options for Rochester-area residents. The service will operate twice a week, on Thursdays and Sundays, offering convenient choices for both weekend getaways and extended vacations.
“Whether you’re planning a family vacation or a weekend getaway with friends, Fort Myers is now just one easy flight away from home thanks to new non-stop service on Breeze Airways,” said County Executive Bello. “This new route gives travelers even more affordable and convenient options to enjoy Florida’s Gulf Coast and all that it has to offer – from its stunning beaches to its vibrant culture and so much more. We appreciate Breeze’s ongoing support and investment at the ROC Airport, which continues to grow thanks to new budget-friendly, non-stop routes to in-demand destinations.”
The announcement signals continued growth for Breeze Airways, which only began operations out of ROC in May of this year. Fort Myers becomes the airline’s fifth destination from Rochester, following existing non-stop flights to Charleston, South Carolina, and Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina, as well as BreezeThru service (one-stop with no plane change) to New Orleans and Orlando, Florida.
Flights to Fort Myers will start at just $79 one way, making them an attractive choice for travelers looking to escape the upstate New York winter. The Gulf Coast city is a popular vacation spot known for its warm weather, picturesque beaches, and relaxed atmosphere.
David Neeleman, the founder and CEO of Breeze Airways, praised the positive reception the airline has received since arriving in Rochester. “We started service in Rochester just a few months ago and we’ve been pleased with the response we’ve received from the community so far,” said Neeleman. “We’re excited to bring a new seasonal route to community members this winter and look forward to continuing to grow our service at ROC.”
The ROC Airport has seen a wave of momentum in recent months, with Breeze Airways playing a key role in expanding direct travel options. Breeze’s model focuses on offering low-cost fares with both economy and upgraded seating options, while targeting cities that are typically underserved by larger carriers.
The twice-weekly schedule to Fort Myers will make it easier for Western New Yorkers to access Florida’s west coast without the need for layovers or long drives to other airports. It also adds more competition in the region, potentially driving down fares and improving service across the board.
With this latest addition, Breeze continues to demonstrate a commitment to serving Rochester as a strategic market. For frequent fliers, snowbirds, and anyone craving a quick warm-weather escape, the new route is a welcome development.
Flights from ROC to Fort Myers will begin shortly after the New Year, providing a timely option for those seeking to swap snow for sunshine. As January 2026 approaches, both the airport and airline expect strong demand for seats on this route, especially from travelers eager to explore the Gulf Coast without hassle.
