Crystal Loss is honored by Supervisor Leenhouts in the July Staff Spotlight for her outstanding service to the Town of Penfield

Penfield, New York – The Town of Penfield is celebrating one of its own this month, shining a well-deserved light on Office Account Clerk Crystal Loss, whose cheerful presence and dependable work ethic have made her a standout member of the Town Clerk’s Office. Though Crystal joined the team just last spring, she has quickly become an essential part of daily operations and a favorite among both coworkers and community members.
Known for her warm smile and friendly demeanor, Crystal is often the first face residents see when they walk into Penfield Town Hall. Whether she’s issuing marriage licenses, dog tags, or hunting permits, she does it all with a positive attitude and a commitment to excellent service. In addition to her daily responsibilities, she also offers notary services and helps residents with accessible parking placards.
Her work doesn’t go unnoticed. This July, Supervisor Jeff Leenhouts named her the latest honoree in the Town’s monthly Staff Spotlight program, which recognizes employees who go above and beyond in their roles.
“Providing high-quality customer service is one of the most important things that we do as a Town, and Crystal exemplifies this commitment,” said Town Supervisor Jeff Leenhouts. “Our community is really lucky to have her working hard for them each day.”
Crystal’s impact goes beyond just checking off boxes and filling out forms. She’s the kind of team member who is always ready to step in wherever needed, offering help to her coworkers and extra care to residents navigating important or sometimes emotional paperwork. Her approach has boosted not only public satisfaction but also workplace morale.
“Crystal’s dedication, attitude, and willingness to help others have had a significant and positive impact on our Town residents and our team’s morale and productivity,” added Town Clerk Amy Steklof.
Outside of the office, Crystal brings that same passion and creativity to her personal life. She enjoys woodworking and pottery, activities that reflect her hands-on mindset and eye for detail. A devoted dog lover, she also cherishes spending time with her family.
The Staff Spotlight program was created to highlight employees who contribute in meaningful ways to the Town of Penfield, and this month’s recognition of Crystal Loss shows just how much of a difference one person can make. Her thoughtful approach to service and her consistent support of her team make her an invaluable part of the town’s operations.
Congratulations to Crystal on this well-earned recognition—and thank you for making Penfield a more welcoming place for everyone who walks through the door.
