City employees will receive a special fifty percent discount on registration fees for the popular Pound the Ground 5K event this year

Rochester, New York – City of Rochester employees and their families have a great reason to get moving this summer — thanks to a special offer from the City’s Wellness Committee, registration for the upcoming Pound the Ground 5K is now half-price for all City staff and their loved ones.
The annual 5K run and walk, set for Thursday, August 21st at Mendon Ponds Park in Honeoye Falls, NY, kicks off at 6:30 p.m. This year’s event continues its tradition of raising money and awareness for the Rochester Veterans Outreach Center, an organization dedicated to providing vital resources and support for local veterans.
Those interested in taking advantage of the discount simply need to use the coupon code ROC WELLNESS when registering. With this code, City employees and their family members will receive 50% off the standard registration fee for the in-person event.
“The City of Rochester Wellness Committee is supporting your participation in the Pound the Ground 5K by offering 50% off registration for all City employees and their family members for the in-person 5K run and walk.”
On top of the discount, participants will also walk away with some fun swag — everyone who signs up will receive a pair of wellness-branded sunglasses at the event.
For those who are MVP health insurance members, there’s an extra perk: completing the race earns 40 Wellbeing Rewards points, a nice bonus for those keeping track of their health goals through MVP’s program.
The Pound the Ground 5K isn’t just about fitness. It’s about community, charity, and supporting those who’ve served our nation. Whether you’re running for a personal best or walking alongside friends and family, this event offers something for everyone.
Organizers encourage early registration to make sure participants don’t miss out on the discounted rate or the commemorative sunglasses. It’s also a fantastic opportunity for City employees to stay active, have fun, and contribute to a worthy cause.
For more details or to sign up, employees should visit the official registration page and remember to use that ROC WELLNESS code at checkout.
