Community garage sales and the Great New York State flea market mashups return to the Rochester Public Market on Sunday, July 6 for another day of bargain hunting and family fun

Rochester, New York – The heart of Rochester’s summertime buzz is back in full swing as the beloved Community Garage Sales and Great New York State Flea Market Mashups make their next appearance this Sunday, July 6, at the Rochester Public Market. With its signature blend of bargain hunting, unique finds, and local flavor, the market is set to once again deliver a memorable weekend experience for families, collectors, and curious shoppers alike.
The mashup series, a fan favorite throughout the region, combines the best of two worlds—local garage sales and the expansive Great New York State Flea Market—creating a sprawling bazaar of hidden treasures and eclectic goods. The event runs from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., rain or shine, and is entirely free to attend, making it a can’t-miss opportunity for residents and visitors looking to stretch their dollars while supporting local sellers.
“This is one of those events where you never know what you’ll stumble upon. It might be vintage jewelry, retro furniture, kids’ toys, or handmade crafts,” said a frequent vendor. “It’s that thrill of discovery that keeps people coming back.”
The summer calendar is packed with more opportunities to browse and buy. Upcoming dates include a mix of traditional garage sales and themed mashups, each offering a different twist on the shopping experience. Highlights on the schedule include:

Every event is hosted under the market’s iconic outdoor sheds, providing cover from the elements and a lively atmosphere that’s hard to beat. “Garage Sales and Super Fleas are held rain or shine, and admission is free. Most items for sale will be under cover in the outdoor market sheds,” the organizers remind.
For those interested in becoming part of the action, vending spots are both affordable and accessible. Each 10’ x 30’ stall—complete with parking—is available for $35 per event. Serious sellers can also take advantage of a six-event package for $160, offering savings for those looking to make summer sales a routine. Vendor applications can be downloaded online or picked up in person at the Market Office, located at 280 N. Union Street.
