Supervisor Bill Reilich welcomes families and residents to gather for the return of the Town of Greece Old Fashioned 4th of July Celebration

Greece, New York – The Town of Greece is pulling out all the stops for this year’s Old Fashioned 4th of July Celebration, and Supervisor Bill Reilich is calling on the entire community to come out and take part in a full day of patriotic fun, food, music, and fireworks.
Everything is set to unfold on the Greece Town Campus, located on Vince Tofany Boulevard, with a day that starts bright and early and stretches all the way through an electrifying nighttime fireworks display.
The festivities kick off at 6:30 a.m. with registration for the 5K Freedom Run, a community favorite that combines fitness and festivity. The race itself begins at 7:00 a.m. and is open to runners of all levels. Participants are encouraged to pre-register online to avoid delays, with a $25 fee in advance or $30 on race day. Every registered runner gets a commemorative t-shirt, and every finisher will walk away with a medal. For added convenience, runners can pick up their packets at The Center from July 1 at noon through July 3 at noon.
Following that burst of morning energy, little ones will get their chance to shine in the Super Hero Sprint. Check-in starts at 8:00 a.m., with the sprint beginning at 8:15 a.m. Kids are encouraged to dress up as their favorite heroes, making it not just a race, but a celebration of childhood imagination and energy.
By late afternoon, the grounds will transform into a festive wonderland with the arrival of food trucks and the launch of family-friendly activities at 4:00 p.m. This year’s vendor lineup includes crowd-pleasers like Kona Ice, Lugia’s Ice Cream, Al’s Steakout, Macarollin’, Sugary Delights, and many others, ensuring that there’s something for every taste and craving.
Getting to the event is also made easy thanks to a shuttle service running continuously from Greece Athena High School, starting at 4:15 p.m. The shuttles, including ADA-compliant buses, will ensure smooth access to the event grounds, especially since no parking will be available at the Town Hall complex.
Then, as the sun sets, the music turns up. The evening concert series will bring big names to the local stage, beginning at 6:00 p.m. with August Zadra of the Dennis DeYoung Band (Styx). Jason Scheff, former lead vocalist and bassist of the legendary band Chicago, will follow with a set at 7:00 p.m. featuring the iconic Horns from Chicago. The finale before the fireworks will be Tommy DeCarlo, former lead singer of BOSTON, performing from 8:45 to 10:00 p.m.
Once the music winds down, all eyes will turn to the sky. The fireworks show, expected to begin around 10:00 p.m., promises to light up the night with a dazzling array of color and sound — a fitting close to a day filled with community spirit and celebration.
“I am excited to once again bring back this beloved community event,” said Supervisor Reilich. “I am thrilled to again bring in national musical acts along with the other events and activities we have planned this day.”
Whether you’re a runner, a music lover, a foodie, or a family looking for a fun way to celebrate Independence Day, the Town of Greece promises something for everyone. This hometown celebration blends tradition with big entertainment — and it’s all happening July 4 on the Town Campus. Don’t miss it.
