Henrietta, New York – Residents of Henrietta are being reminded that time is quickly running out to make payments on the 2025 Combined Town and County Tax Bill at the Town Clerk’s Office. The final day to pay locally — and avoid additional penalties — is Monday, June 2nd.

Due to May 31st falling on a Saturday this year, the Henrietta Town Clerk’s Office has extended in-person payment options through the following Monday. That gives taxpayers one last chance to settle their bills at Town Hall with a 6% interest rate before further increases kick in.

After June 2nd, the rules change. Starting Tuesday, June 3rd, all payments must be made directly to the Monroe County Treasurer and will be subject to a higher 7.5% interest charge. That additional 1.5% could make a noticeable difference for residents who are already facing tight budgets.

For those still needing to pay, the Town Clerk’s Office is open during regular business hours – 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Town officials are encouraging anyone who hasn’t yet submitted their payment to act quickly and take advantage of several available options.

Importantly, payments left in the official drop box outside Town Hall before 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 3rd will still be considered timely and will not incur the higher penalty. Mailed payments can also qualify, but only if the envelope is postmarked by the U.S. Postal Service on or before June 2nd. “We honor US Postmarks (not postage meter marks) of June 2nd if mailing in a payment,” officials have confirmed.

For those who prefer the convenience of digital payments, there’s also an online option available. As long as the transaction is completed before midnight on June 2nd, it will be counted as on time. However, a convenience fee will apply for using the online service at www.monroecounty.gov.

Residents looking for detailed payment information or wanting to confirm their tax bill status are encouraged to visit the official town tax webpage at www.henrietta.org/taxes.

Town staff stress that while they’re doing everything they can to make the process accessible, the Monday deadline is firm. Missing it not only means higher interest but also shifts responsibility for payment over to the county level.

As the date approaches, the Town Clerk’s Office expects a busy final push. Taxpayers are urged not to wait until the last minute, especially if they are mailing in checks or relying on online systems that may experience high traffic.
The message is clear: If you want to avoid the extra cost and keep things local, June 2nd is your final window.
