State Police continue to investigate a deadly crash involving a car and a UTV on Rose Valley Road in the town of Russia

Russia, New York – A quiet Friday night in Herkimer County turned tragic after a deadly crash involving a car and a utility task vehicle (UTV) claimed a life in the town of Russia.

According to State Police, the collision happened shortly before 11 p.m. on May 10, 2025. Emergency crews responded to the scene on Rose Valley Road at approximately 10:53 p.m. after receiving reports of a serious crash involving a passenger vehicle and a UTV.

The New York State Police confirmed that the accident is being actively investigated by their Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI), along with the Collision Reconstruction Unit. So far, authorities have not released the names of anyone involved or any further specifics about the cause of the crash.
