The City’s Buy The Block initiative is designed to increase homeownership in historically under-invested neighborhoods by building high-quality, affordable homes on City-owned lots. With 12 unique home models available, the program ensures that no buyer pays more than 30 percent of their income on housing. All homes are sold to pre-qualified first-time homebuyers at reasonable prices.

Construction on the second phase of Buy The Block homes is currently underway in the Bull’s Head area of Southwest Rochester, expanding the reach of the program.
