Community garage sales and super fleas return to the public market starting Sunday April 13 with dozens of vendors and free admission

Rochester, New York – The wait is almost over for treasure seekers and secondhand lovers—Rochester’s signature Community Garage Sales and Super Fleas are making their long-awaited comeback this Sunday, April 13, at the City of Rochester Public Market.
Running from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 280 N. Union Street, the first sale of the season will kick off a beloved local tradition that draws hundreds of visitors each year. From early-bird collectors to casual shoppers, the event promises something for everyone.
Dozens of vendors will set up shop under the market’s iconic outdoor sheds, offering an eclectic mix of new and pre-owned goods. Shoppers can expect to browse through everything from clothing and toys to tools, sports gear, vintage collectibles, décor, antiques, artwork, and more. Whether you’re on the hunt for a hidden gem or simply looking to enjoy a stroll through the bustling market, this event is not to be missed.

These market sales have grown into more than just a place to shop—they’re a showcase of Rochester’s community spirit. Alongside individual sellers, community groups will also be setting up stalls to raise money for local programs and initiatives. Small businesses, too, will join the mix, adding a unique blend of entrepreneurial energy to the market’s already lively atmosphere.
Regulars and newcomers alike can look forward to multiple dates throughout the year. The full lineup of Sunday sales includes April 13 and 27; June 8 and 22; July 6 and 20; August 3, 17, and 31; September 14 and 28; and October 12. As always, the sales will be held rain or shine, and admission is completely free.
And while May might take a break from the garage sales, it’s for good reason—Flower City Days, the Market’s horticultural extravaganza, will fill that slot with blooms and greenery.
For those looking to take part as vendors, the opportunity remains affordable and accessible. Each 10’ x 30’ space, which includes parking, can be rented for just $35 a day. There’s also a package deal available for $160, which covers six sale dates. Whether you’re cleaning out your garage, fundraising for a local cause, or building a small business, it’s an easy and inexpensive way to connect with the community.
“This first Community Garage Sale kicks off the 2025 slate of more over three dozen free-admission events at the Market across all seasons of the year,” organizers said.
The surrounding Market District is also buzzing on sale days, with dining spots and shops staying open to serve the crowd. So even if shopping isn’t your main goal, there’s plenty of reason to stop by and soak in the vibrant atmosphere.
Interested vendors can download an application at www.cityofrochester.gov/garagesales or visit the Market Office in person from Tuesday through Saturday—or on sale Sundays themselves.
