RIT graduate programs recognized among the top in the country by U.S. News & World Report in the 2025 rankings

Rochester, New York – Graduate programs at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) have once again received national recognition, with several making significant strides in the 2025 rankings released by U.S. News & World Report. Known for its strong focus on technology and innovation, RIT has continued to rise in prestige among graduate institutions across the country.
Leading the way is RIT’s Kate Gleason College of Engineering, which climbed four spots to secure the 69th position among the nation’s top graduate engineering schools. This ranking is determined by a variety of measurable factors including faculty credentials, research output, and student success. The upward movement reflects the college’s ongoing investment in quality education and its growing reputation in the engineering field.
Each year, U.S. News & World Report evaluates graduate programs in business, education, engineering, law, medicine, and nursing, relying on detailed data such as graduation rates, faculty numbers, employment outcomes, and student enrollment. These rankings are widely used by prospective students seeking insight into program quality and career potential.
In the Golisano College of Computing and Information Sciences, RIT’s Master of Science program in computer science was ranked 71st nationally. This ranking is based on academic reputation surveys sent to peer institutions, showcasing how the program is perceived by other professionals and educators in the field.
The Saunders College of Business also earned a spot on the list, with its full-time MBA program landing at 100th nationwide. Meanwhile, the College of Health Sciences and Technology had two programs ranked this year—health care management at 81st and the physician assistant program at 119th.
These rankings are not only based on statistical data but also on assessments from academic leaders and industry professionals. U.S. News gathered peer review scores from deans, program directors, and senior faculty, as well as feedback from employers familiar with the graduates of these programs.
