Central Square man arrested after being accused of stealing coins and liquor from Fulton home

Fulton, New York – A Central Square resident has been arrested and charged in connection with a theft that reportedly occurred while he was working at a home in Fulton, New York.
According to New York State Police, 37-year-old Shaun P. Sharp was taken into custody on April 7, 2025, and charged with Grand Larceny in the fourth degree, a class E felony. The arrest stems from a report made by a homeowner on March 25, 2025, who claimed that approximately $11,000 worth of coins had gone missing from the residence. Along with the coins, 14 bottles of liquor were also reported stolen.
Police say Sharp had been working as a contractor at the home when the items disappeared. After an investigation, authorities identified him as the suspected individual responsible for the theft.
At the time of his arrest, Sharp was already being held at the Oswego County Jail on an unrelated matter. During the ongoing investigation, police discovered that while in custody, Sharp allegedly contacted someone who was listed in an active order of protection. As a result, he now faces an additional charge of Criminal Contempt in the second degree.
“Sharp was transported back to the Oswego County Correctional Facility to await arraignment,” the report stated.
The investigation remains open as law enforcement continues reviewing the circumstances of the theft and the alleged violation of the protective order.
No further details about the homeowner or the nature of Sharp’s previous arrest were released at this time.
