Monroe County expands support for local festivals with increased funding for 2025 applications

Monroe County, New York – Monroe County Executive Adam Bello has announced the launch of the 2025 Community Festival Funding application process, marking the fourth consecutive year of dedicated financial support for local events. With an increased allocation of at least $350,000—$100,000 more than last year—the county aims to bolster community celebrations that enrich cultural life and bring residents together.
“Festivals and events are part of the fabric of life in Monroe County. Our local festivals bring people together to celebrate historic occasions, recognize the traditions of our diverse cultures, and highlight local and national talent,” said Bello. “Festivals improve the quality of life for Monroe County residents, and I’m proud that we have increased the funding available this year to make this festival season the best ever.”

The online application portal is now open, and interested festival organizers have until 5:00 p.m. on Friday, April 4, 2025, to submit their proposals. Full details, including eligibility requirements and application guidelines, can be found at monroecounty.gov/festivalfunding.
Who Can Apply?
To qualify for funding, festivals must meet specific criteria set by the county. Eligible events must:

• Align with one or more of the following categories: patriotic observances, historical commemorations, artistic showcases, or Monroe County promotional events.
• Include a free public component to ensure accessibility for all residents.
• Expect a minimum attendance of 1,000 individuals.
• Take place within Monroe County between January 1 and December 31, 2025.
• Provide valid insurance coverage, including general liability, automobile liability, workers’ compensation, disability benefits, and paid family leave benefits.

To assist organizers in navigating the application process, a virtual webinar will be held on Friday, March 14, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. The session will cover key details, eligibility requirements, and frequently asked questions.
