Village of Brockport offers seasonal mowing job opportunity

Brockport, New York – The Village of Brockport’s Department of Public Works is looking for a dedicated and reliable individual to join its team as a Seasonal Mowing Laborer. This temporary position offers a great opportunity to work outdoors, help maintain the community’s green spaces, and gain valuable work experience during the summer months.

Job Responsibilities

The Seasonal Mowing Laborer will be responsible for operating and maintaining various types of mowing equipment, including riding mowers, push mowers, and trimmers. The main duties include:

• Mowing and trimming grass in parks, public areas, and designated spaces throughout the Village of Brockport.

• Performing general grounds maintenance tasks such as edging, weeding, and clearing debris.

• Ensuring all equipment is safely and efficiently operated and maintained.

• Following safety protocols and procedures to prevent injuries and equipment damage.

• Carrying out additional tasks as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications and Requirements

Candidates must meet the following qualifications:

• Possess a valid New York State Driver’s License.

• Have experience operating and maintaining mowing equipment.

• Be physically capable of performing tasks that involve lifting, bending, and standing for long periods.

• Be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

• Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.

• Work well as part of a team.

Work Schedule and Compensation

The position requires employees to work 29.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday. The pay rate is up to $21.00 per hour, making it a competitive seasonal job for those looking to earn extra income while working outdoors.
