State Police seize $400K in cash along with guns and drugs in Oneida County

Oneida County, New York – A large-scale drug bust in Oneida County has led to the seizure of significant amounts of narcotics, firearms, and cash, marking a major success for law enforcement agencies combating drug-related crime in the region.
On January 15, 2025, officers from the New York State Police Troop D Violent Gang and Narcotics Enforcement Team, along with the Special Operations Response Team, Canine Unit, and uniformed officers, executed a search warrant at a residence on Meadows Road in Annsville. The operation resulted in the confiscation of 12 pounds of crystal methamphetamine, an undisclosed amount of cocaine, eight long guns, over $400,000 in cash, as well as drug packaging materials and scales.
Authorities continued their investigation, and on February 27, 2025, law enforcement officials, including the New York State Police Troop D Violent Gang and Narcotics Enforcement Team, U.S. Marshals, Oneida County Sheriff’s Office, Utica Police Department, and Oneida County Probation, tracked down the primary suspect, 53-year-old Ted A. Croniser of Taberg, NY. Croniser was taken into custody without incident at a residence on Glenridge Drive in Annsville.

During the arrest, 38-year-old Jessica L. Centro, also from Taberg, attempted to interfere with the apprehension by concealing Croniser, leading to her own arrest.
Croniser faces serious legal consequences and has been charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 1st Degree, a Class A-I felony. Centro has been charged with Hindering Prosecution in the 1st Degree, a Class D felony, and Obstruction of Governmental Administration, a Class A misdemeanor.
Both individuals are currently detained at the Oneida County Jail as they await centralized arraignment. Officials have indicated that additional charges may be filed as the investigation continues.
The massive drug seizure underscores the persistent efforts of law enforcement agencies in disrupting the flow of illegal narcotics and weapons in the region. With such a substantial amount of drugs and cash involved, authorities believe the operation has struck a significant blow to criminal networks operating in and around Oneida County.
